Police Blotter

September 27

9:55 a.m. Patrol assisted a moving truck on Bedford Road.

3:20 p.m. DPW was notified of a dead cat on the side of the road at Hartwell Road and the Concord line.

4:20 p.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.

9:28 p.m. Patrol assisted at the site of a disabled vehicle at the ice cream stand on Bedford Road.

September 28

10:52 a.m. A Russell Street resident reported a suspicious package.

3:10 p.m. Patrol stopped an erratic operator on Westford Street and found the situation checked okay.

3:22 p.m. Patrol investigated a report of a dog running in the roadway on Westford and Acton Streets and had a negative find.

4:12 p.m. NSTAR was notified of a tree on wires at Westford Street and Johnson Road.

4:31 p.m. Trash was found in the road at Rutland Street and the Billerica line.

9:19 p.m. Patrol assisted at the scene of a disabled vehicle in the center.

9:34 p.m. A disabled vehicle at Lowell Street and the ski barn was towed.

10:29 p.m. Patrol assisted a tree crew at Westford Street and Johnson Road.

September 29

2:10 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on East Riding Drive.

11:42 a.m. Patrol investigated a report of kids playing in the street at Westford and Church Streets and had a negative find.

1:27 p.m. A Barnes Place resident reported credit card fraud.

1:38 p.m. A Restorative Justice meeting was held at the station.

2:18 p.m. A Concord Street resident reported a possibly sick small fox. Patrol checked and had a negative find.

2:19 p.m. Patrol made a well-being check for Concord Police on Concord Street and had a negative find.

2:49 p.m. A damaged mailbox was removed from the roadway on North Road.

4:14 p.m. Patrol investigated a disabled vehicle at Concord Street and Buttrick Lane and found help was on the way.

4:28 p.m. A Restorative Justice meeting was held at the station.

4:54 p.m. Patrol stopped an erratic operator on Bedford Road.

5:06 p.m. An injured, limping puppy was found at North Road and the Canoe Launch. The Dog Officer was advised and found that the Billerica Dog Officer had also been called and had taken the puppy to the Billerica pound.

5:40 p.m. A child was hit in the library parking lot and taken to Emerson Hospital by ambulance. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene. See story, page 14.

6:29 p.m. The Dog Officer was advised of a dog complaint on Cross Street.

September 30

2:32 p.m. DPW and NSTAR were notified of a tree hanging over the roadway at Baldwin and Woodridge Roads.

3:29 p.m. Patrol went to the school to assist at a road race, but it was cancelled.

6:39 p.m. A tree branch in the road at Westford Street and Towle Field was removed.

7:04 p.m. A 911 misdial was confirmed accidental.

7:26 to 7:42 p.m. Five parking tickets with fines were issued for illegal parking on School Street.

9:19 p.m. A River Road resident reported strange noises. Patrol investigated and found the situation checked okay.

October 1

1:17 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at a smoke odor investigation on Russell Street.

8:36 a.m. A tree took down power lines on Acton Street. NSTAR was notified.

9:22 a.m. DPW was notified of a tree branch in the roadway on Bedford Road.

9:59 a.m. Police closed West Street because of trees on wires. DPW and NSTAR were advised.

10:06 a.m. DPW was advised of a tree across the roadway on Acton Street.

10:07 a.m. Police notified NSTAR of a tree on a house service line on Acton Street.

10:13 a.m. DPW was notified of a tree in the roadway on School Street.

10:33 a.m. A power outage occurred on Cross Street.

11:18 a.m. DPW was notified of water in the roadway on Concord Street.

11:22 a.m. Patrol investigated a report of a tree blocking the roadway on Acton Street and had a negative find.

12:54 p.m. A Rutland Street resident complained of a contractor causing noise and was advised.

1:17 p.m. DPW was notified of runoff flowing into a house on Acton Street.

2:22 p.m. A second Rutland Street resident reported a contractor causing noise on that street.

7:07 p.m. A suspicious subject in the woods at Maple Street and the Greenough land checked okay.

October 2

4:21 a.m. Patrol investigated a vehicle alarm on Bedford Road.

9:27 a.m. A cable company was notified of a branch on a wire on Stearns Street.

11:13 a.m. A parking ticket with a fine was issued for a vehicle on Curve Street.

11:29 a.m. The Dog Officer was notified of a report of dogs in a yard on Robbins Drive.

11:41 a.m. A Russell Street resident reported three dogs killed a turkey. The Dog Officer was advised.

2:07 p.m. A Stoney Gate resident reported a missing political lawn sign.

3:55 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at Great Brook Path.

8:10 p.m. Patrol investigated a suspicious male on Stearns Street and he checked okay.

October 3

2:50 p.m. A Bellows Hill Road resident reported past larceny of cash.

5:11 p.m. Patrol located the owners of a loose dog in the roadway on Concord Street. ∆

5:46 p.m. Medical emergency on Bedford Road. A child was transported from the Gleason Library parking lot to Emerson Hospital.

October 1

1:14 a.m. Smoke investigation inside building on Russell Street. Nothing found, only an odor.

October 2

3:50 p.m. Chimney fire or problem on Great Brook Path. Resident had no fire going today. The fire fighters found a fire still burning in basement chimney, cleaned out and extinguished it.

5:07 p.m. Alarm investigation on Acton Street. This was a smoke detector malfunction. ∆
