CCHS feasibility study gets green light from state

Regional School Committee Chair Louis Salemy said, “CCHS has been given the green light to move forward to the next phase, the feasibility study, with Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA).

Superintendent Diana Rigby, Deputy Superintendent John Flaherty, RSC member Jerry Wedge and Salemy attended a MSBA Board Meeting on September 29. State Treasurer and MSBA Chairman Timothy Cahill spoke at the meeting, saying new construction was the correct solution for the structure to last another 50 years.

Salemy said the feasibility study will determine the scope of the project. However, CCHS was not put on MSBA’s new construction list at this meeting.

The Facilities Master Plan done last spring will be used as preliminary data for the feasibility study. The CCHS Building Committee will now be hiring an Owner’s Project Manager, a professional engineer or architect who will oversee the feasibility study. ∆
