Keep the lid on your pot
A police patrol recently investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Old North Road and subsequently stopped a car with four 17-to-18-year-old occupants. About ten minutes later, the same vehicle was stopped on Ember Lane and the operator, an Acton resident, was cited for possession of marijuana, according to Officer Ron Holsinger, who made the citation.
It is a fact that it is no longer a criminal offense to be in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, according to Police Lieut. Leo Crowe; the case does not proceed through the court system. However, possession of under an ounce of marijuana is still a civil offense and carries a $100 fine. For anyone into this kind of “cooking,” the recent incident in Carlisle’s law enforcement activity may be a reminder to keep the lid on your pot.
