Carlisle School teachers change assignments
At the June 2 Carlisle School Committee (CSC) meeting Superintendent Marie Doyle provided an update on faculty changes, including new hires who will be in place this coming fall. Most Carlisle School staff members are returning next year, though a few are moving from one grade to another (see table).
Doyle said Beth Smith-Peterson, who has worked at the school for three years as an aide and as a replacement teacher in grades 1 and 2, has been hired as the new Kindergarten teacher. Reached by email, Elementary Principal Patrice Hurley praised Smith-Peterson: “She was interviewed by a team of administrators, teachers and a parent representative just as any other candidate for the position last week and was our top choice out of more than 80 candidates for the position.” Doyle said they are in the midst of interviewing candidates for grades 3 and 4 as well as for the position of math specialist. ∆
