Carlisle Varsity Athletes are strong contributors to Track and Field Teams
Track and Field teams send nine to State championship
The CCHS outdoor track and field teams had another strong season. The girls team went undefeated in the Dual County League Small School and won the DCL small title and both the boys and girls teams both finished third at the Dual County League meet. Carlisle Seniors include Zander Ansara, Kevin Clarke, Phil Lavely, Cam Vazehgoo, Janice Galejs, and Kaytie Innamorati.
Zander Ansara competed in the 4x400, the triple jump and the high hurdle events. Kevin Clarke competed in the 800 meter relay and the 400 meter sprint. Janice Galejs ran in the 400 meter sprint, 400 meter hurdles, the 200 meter sprint, and the 400 meter relay. Kaytie Innamorati competed in the 800 meter. Competing in the discus and shot put were Captain Rebekah Shenton and Junior Sean Fidler. Sophomores Dakota Dray and Lauren Tierney ran in both the 100 and 200 meter sprints. Junior Ben Parra ran the 400 meter and competed in the long jump. Junior Hannah Parra competed in high hurdles. Junior Julia Brem ran the 400 meter and 800 meter events. Also running the 800 meter event were Junior Michelle Solomon and Freshman Michelle Carey. Freshman Megan Ratcliffe ran both the mile and the 800 meter.
Thanks to their success at the DCL Championship meet, 38 athletes went to the Eastern Massachusetts Championship meet, where nine qualified for the State meet (June 5). Junior Rebekah Shenton qualified in the discus. The boys 800 meter relay, anchored by Kevin Clarke, placed third overall, qualifying them for State. Placing fourth at DCL and also headed for State was the girls 100 meter relay team featuring Carlisleans Lauren Tierney and Dakota Dray. ∆
