Quinn receives suspended sentence
A ruling at a bench trial held last Tuesday at the Middlesex District Court in Concord gave Robert Quinn, 47, of Somerville, a suspended sentence of 2 1/2 years on one charge of assault and battery against a resident of East Meadow Lane. Quinn was visiting relatives in Carlisle last July 17 when he became involved in an incident that resulted in Quinn being stabbed in the hand. Two additional charges of threatening to commit a crime were also suspended.
Quinn pleaded guilty on all three charges. Judge Hinkle attached a list of conditions to her decision to suspend the sentence, including having no avoidable contact with the local resident, having no alcohol for the duration of the suspended sentence and random screening for alcohol, requiring mental health treatment and ordering prescribed medications to be taken as directed. A substance abuse evaluation was included in the judge’s recommendations. ∆
