Accidents slow traffic on Saturday
On a warm spring day some residents found it took a little longer to get where they were going. On Lowell Street, just after noon, a bicycle ran into a truck and the only damage was a small scratch to the truck.
A little after 3 p.m., a two-car accident occurred on Bedford Road near the center and was also without injury.
Barely an hour later, at 4:17 p.m., a rollover occurred on Bedford Road, near the Foss Farm entrance. A single car flipped over, just missing a big tree and landed halfway into a ditch. The operator, a woman from Reading, was conscious and helped by persons at the scene as she climbed out of her upside down vehicle, according to Fire Chief David Flannery. She was taken to Emerson Hospital by ambulance and the upside down car was removed by a tow truck. The motorists waited, windows open, while members of the Police and Fire Departments directed an orderly flow of traffic. ∆
