Police Blotter

April 26

4:43 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department on Stearns Street at the scene of smoke detector activation.

11:42 a.m. Glasses found at Lowell Street and the rotary were brought to the station and tagged.

12:32 p.m. Chelmsford Police asked for mutual aid in locating a suspicious male near Martin Street and the Chelmsford line. Patrol had a negative find.

2 p.m. A disabled vehicle at Westford Street and the Rotary called AAA for assistance.

2:47 p.m. A resident came to the station for legal advice.

3:19 p.m. Keys found at Maple Street and the Greenough Land lot were brought to the station and tagged.

April 27

11:02 a.m. DPW was notified of trash dumped at Maple Street and the Greenough Land lot.

1:54 p.m. A message was relayed to police and delivered to a Bingham Road resident.

2:39 p.m. Patrol assisted on Wolf Rock Road where debris had been deposited on the neighbor’s side of a property line.

6:41 p.m. Patrol assisted at the scene of a disabled vehicle on Lowell Street.

April 28

11:37 a.m. A summons was served on Berry Corner Lane.

3:22 p.m. A resident complained about a past erratic driver at Curve and Westford Streets.

4:39 p.m. A 911 hang up call from East Riding Drive was investigated and confirmed accidental.

7:12 p.m. The Dog Officer was notified of a small dog in the road on Lowell Street. Patrol had a negative find.

7:11 p.m. Patrol assisted with traffic on Concord Street where there was a horse in a trailer.

7:29 p.m. Patrol unsuccessfully attempted to serve a summons on Russell Street.

April 29

7 a.m. A summons was served in hand on Russell Street.

9:51 a.m. The Dog Officer was advised of a loose dog on Robbins Drive.

10:41 a.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from an Indian Hill residence and found the situation appeared secure.

12:09 p.m. A burglar alarm from a Cross Street residence was determined to be accidental.

12:23 p.m. DPW was advised of a tree branch on wire on Acton Street.

1:37 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from an Estabrook Road residence and found the situation appeared okay.

2:25 p.m. DPW was notified of a tree across the roadway on North Road; the tree was moved.

3:44 p.m. A Maple Street resident complained about a neighbor’s dog on her property; the Dog Officer was advised.

5:16 p.m. The Dog Officer was notified of a lost Cairn Terrier on North Road.

April 30

4:09 a.m. A Fiske Street resident complained of dogs barking for the last three hours.

5:28 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Evergreen Lane.

10:22 a.m. Patrol investigated a report of a truck blocking the road at West and South Streets and had a negative find.

5:08 p.m. A tree down in the roadway on Lowell Street was moved to the side of the road and DPW notified.

5:36 p.m. A complaint of speeding at Cross and Westford Streets was received.

May 1

9:57 a.m. A past hit-and-run at Lowell Street and the rotary was reported.

12:17 p.m. A minor bicycle accident occurred on Lowell Street. A bicycle ran into a truck and scratched the truck. There was no personal injury.

1:50 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency at Foss Field.

2:13 p.m. A 911 hang-up call from an Autumn Lane residence was investigated and confirmed accidental.

2:50 p.m. A greyhound was reported in the roadway at South Street and Wildwood Drive; the Dog Officer was notified.

2:58 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from a Robbins Drive residence. The situation appeared secure.

3:09 p.m. Patrol investigated a two-car vehicle accident on Bedford Road. There was no personal injury.

4:17 p.m. A single car accident occurred at Bedford Road and Foss Field. The vehicle turned over and the operator, a Reading woman, was transported to the hospital. (See story.)

May 2

7:40 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department on Wolf Rock Road at the scene of a medical emergency.

10:07 a.m. Patrol investigated a Lifeline activation on East Street and determined it was accidental.

11:34 a.m. Patrol investigated a suspicious vehicle on Hillside Drive and determined the vehicle checked okay.

2:16 p.m. Patrol secured an unsecured door on Woodland Road.

3:31 p.m. A Cross Street resident reported suspicious activity on Cross Street and was referred to the inspector.

8:42 p.m. DPW was notified of a missing street sign and Lowell Street and Sunset Road. ∆
