Carlisle School fees held steady

School Business Manager Susan Pray recommended to the Carlisle School Committee (CSC) at its March 17 meeting that school fees remain unchanged for the coming fiscal year (see Table 1). Though kindergarten enrollment will decrease from 60 to 50 students, families will not see a decrease in the cost of all-day kindergarten since the same number of teachers will be required. She also presented a chart showing the trend in costs for the families who pay fees (see Table 2). Last year (FY09) according to Pray, there were roughly 445 Carlisle School families and 230 paid fees for one or more children in grades preK-8. Kindergarten classes are held five days a week, three of which are full days, and two are half-days. Fee increases occurred in FY09 and FY10. CSC Chair Koski said a vote on school fees will be held at the April 7 meeting. ∆
