Do not add Epsom salt to canned tomatoes. Bev Humm was incorrectly quoted in “Gardeners gear up for spring, share tips,” on page nine of last week’s issue. Epsom salt should not be added to the prepared food, but can be added to the soil to prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes. The Mosquito regrets the error. ∆
