Carlisle players were key to golf team success

Last year, the CCHS Golf Team won the Division II State Championships. This year the team placed fourth, which is no small accomplishment and there were other factors that made this season memorable.

Two Carlisle residents, Ryan and Justin Harris, had a great season which helped propel the team to second in the Dual County League Small School with a record of 8-2 and 11-4 overall. Both Justin and Ryan Harris were named DCL All-Stars and thus were eligible to compete at the DCL Pine Brook tournament on October 16. Ryan placed first among golfers from all across the league, shooting 73. Justin came in close behind him, in ninth place, shooting 81. Carlisle senior Connor Deignan played his final round on the team this season.

“It was a great experience, along with a great result,” Ryan said later. Being a sophomore, Ryan is only in his second season with the team. He has great potential for the future which should help the team continue their success for years to come. ∆
