for the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament for the seventh time in the last eight years. The team finished the regular season with an overall record of 8-8 and an even more impressive record of 7-1 within the DCL Small league.

Returning varsity Carlisleans, senior Jennifer Perugini and junior Stephanie Mundel, were strong assets to the team as outside hitters. Perugini’s aggressive play was key in several important wins including the second match against Wayland, which kept the team in the running for league champion. Head Coach Jeff Fuller attributes the majority of the team’s points to the team’s serving, which is what makes Mundel’s impressive string of serving points such a key contribution. A new member to the squad, Carlislean junior Alexandra King-Shaw was an effective middle hitter.

The team’s league victory earned them the 13th seed in the MIAA Division 1 Central-West tournament. However, C-C fell to fourth-seed Acton-Boxborough in the first round of tournament play with a tough 3-0 loss. Next year, the team hopes to continue their success in the DCL Small league and to progress further into the state tournament. ∆
