Personnel Board shorts, Sept. 16
• Salary adjustments. The Personnel Board met on September 16 and approved the salary level for new library assistant Cassandra Malik. Based on her advanced degree of Master of Library Science, Malik will be paid at the five-year level for level four of the wage classification table, retroactive to her hire date.
The board approved the correction of a clerical error on the Town Accountant’s payroll form that lists her as a 30-hours-per-week employee. The correction will list her accurately at 31 hours a week, reflecting her actual hours worked.
• Retiring Town Administrator. Madonna McKenzie thanked the board for their service, saying, “I will miss this group – you have always been a real pleasure to work with.” The board thanked her in return. McKenzie will close her service to the board by bringing to them a revision of personnel and harassment policies, and introducing them to the new Town Manager, at their next meeting in October.
• Board vacancies. The board is seeking members to bring their number to the full compliment of five. After the departure of Donna Allman, whose last meeting was this one, there will be only two remaining on the board, JoAnn Driscoll and Laurel Ostrom. McKenzie supported this request, saying, “This is really a great place to learn about the community.” The Personnel Board meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesday of each month, and positions are filled by appointment. For more information about the board, visit www.carlislemosquito.org and click under “Resources” and then “Profiles of town boards and committees.” Interested citizens should apply to the Selectmen at Town Hall, 66 Westford Street, Carlisle, MA 01741. ∆
