Housebreaks up this summer
Multiple housebreaks in the past month have led police to extra measures of vigilance. In addition to the Cross Street robbery (see article on left) there was a break on Martin Street on July 7, on Ember Lane on July 23 and on School Street on August 5. A watch and some jewelry were taken on Martin Street and investigations in that case have been fruitful; Inspector Andy Booth says “persons of interest” have been identified and charges will be made shortly.
The Ember Lane and School Street burglaries had a full range of objects taken, including TVs, cameras, jewelry and a variety of electronic equipment. These breaks continue under investigation.
