What’s up on Patriots Day, April 20

This year’s Patriots Day celebration will be on Monday, April 20, with the following schedule:

6:45 a.m. Ringing of the Meeting House bells, summoning the Minutemen to muster on the Carlisle Common.

6:50 a.m. Flag-raising.

6:55 a.m. Ceremony at Revolutionary War monument next to the FRS on School Street.

7 a.m. Begin march to Concord, along the original route of the Minutemen through Estabrook Woods.

8 a.m. Five-minute stop at the cellar hole.

9 a.m. Arrive at North Bridge hillside

9:30 a.m. Join parade

11:30 a.m. Conclude parade at Hunt Gym.

The Minutemen will issue a commemorative memento to all those who complete the march at the point where the Estabrook trail turns back to pavement at Estabrook Road in Concord. A $1 donation will cover the cost of the trail walk memento. A matted pen-and-ink drawing by Phyllis Hughes of the Estabrook Trail walk will be given away by drawing a name out of a cocked hat at the conclusion of the walk.

Carlisle Minutemen will also participate at Battle Road events: April 18, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; North Bridge Ceremony, April 19, at 6 a.m.
