Eighth-grade gets green light for NYC trip
The Carlisle School Committee (CSC) voted to approve this year’s eighth-grade trip at its January 21 meeting. Language Arts teacher Marcella Pixley volunteered to organize the details of the trip.
“It’s the same trip as last year,” Pixley explained. The students will head to New York City (NYC) on Wednesday, June 10. They will tour Broadway and Times Square, attend a Broadway show, have dinner at Planet Hollywood, and have a dance party with a game show at their hotel, the Sheraton New York Hotel. On Thursday they will take a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, visit the South Street Seaport, have lunch and head back to Carlisle. She said the total cost will be around $458, which includes two meals, attendance to all events, and transportation.
“That sounds very exciting,” said Superintendent Marie Doyle. “That’s a packed two days,” added CSC Chair Chad Koski. “You are very good to take this on.” ∆
