Police Blotter

December 15

8:15 a.m. Patrol investigated a report of two suspicious vehicles on Skelton Road and had a negative find.

1:33 p.m. A vehicle was stopped at East Street and Ice Pond Road: the owner will be summonsed for driving with a suspended license.

4:29 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Lowell Street.

December 16

6:53 a.m. Patrol assisted at the scene of a disabled vehicle on Westford Street.

11 a.m. An individual involved in a road rage incident walked to the station to report it.

1:34 p.m. A “no trespass” notice for a Curve Street property was received.

1:37 p.m. Patrol followed up on an abandoned 911 call and determined it was accidental.

December 17

12:49 p.m. DPW was notified of roads icing up.

7:15 a.m. A car went off the road at River Road and Foss Way. There were no injuries and the vehicle was winched out.

7:26 a.m. A car went off the road at River Road and Prospect Street. There were no injuries.

8:07 a.m. The operator of a disabled car at Bedford Road and River Road contacted AAA directly.

8:10 a.m. Patrol made a well-being check at a Church Street apartment.

12:13 p.m. A one-car injury with no personal injury occurred on Bedford Road.

5:30 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a fire alarm from the Corey Building.

7:44 p.m. A two-car vehicle accident occurred on Concord Street; one vehicle was towed.

December 18

6:10 a.m. A disabled vehicle was reported on Lowell Street. Patrol investigated and had a negative find.

9:35 a.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.

9:49 a.m. Patrol investigated a suspicious motor vehicle on Westford Street. It checked okay.

1:29 p.m. The owner of an unregistered trailer parked near the roadway on Prospect Street was advised.

2:30 p.m. The operator of a utility truck in a roadway on Lowell Street was advised to move.

3:18 p.m. A car went off the road on Maple Street. There was no personal injury and the car was winched out.

4 p.m. Cub Scouts toured the Police Station.

December 19

12:40 a.m. A street light survey was made throughout the town.

7:51 a.m. Police received a request to monitor the stop sign at Church and School Streets.

8:32 a.m. A past vehicle/deer accident on Concord Street was reported.

11:19 a.m. A license plate was recovered on East Street and a message left for the owner.

1:31 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from a Fiske Street residence. The front and rear doors were secured.

1:33 p.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a lockout on Bedford Road.

7:30 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Clark Farm Road.

7:38 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Westford Street.

10:10 p.m. Two snowmobiles were observed in the State Park at North Road and the Visitor’s Center.

10:58 a.m. Patrol was called to the scene of a plowing dispute between neighbors on River Road.

2:41 p.m. Patrol investigated an abandoned 911 call from an Autumn Lane residence.

3:48 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency.

6:39 p.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a vehicle lockout on Cross Street.

December 21

7:34 a.m. Mail was found on South Street and given to the owner.

1:37 p.m. A Maple Street resident reported an oil odor in the garage. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene.

5:28 p.m. Patrol investigated a disabled vehicle at Baldwin Road and Stearns Street: it checked okay.

8:14 p.m. A disabled vehicle at West and Acton Streets checked okay.

11:28 p.m. An Overlook Drive resident requested legal advice.

December 22

11:08 a.m. AAA assistance was requested by the operator of a stopped vehicle.

5:07 p.m. Patrol investigated a disabled vehicle reported at Bedford Road and the Bedford line and had a negative find.

7:11 p.m. Suspicious mail reported by a Clark Farm Road resident checked okay.

10:11 p.m. An East Street resident reported an overdue male. He subsequently arrived home okay.

10:35 p.m. A West Street resident reported snowmobiles on the property. Patrol investigated and had a negative find.

December 23

9:14 a.m. A parking violation ticket with a fine was issued for a vehicle at School Street and the Spalding Building.

10:14 a.m. Patrol assisted at the scene of a disabled vehicle on Bedford Road.

10:49 a.m. A vehicle was stopped at Lowell Street and Ember Lane and the operator subsequently arrested for operation after revocation of the right to operate a vehicle.

2:39 p.m. A resident came to the station to be fingerprinted.

7:22 p.m. Patrol helped free a disabled van stuck in snow on East Street.

A traffic enforcement operation began at 8 p.m. and ended at 10:36 p.m.; three vehicles were stopped.

December 24

12:05 p.m. AAA was notified of a disabled vehicle at Lowell and Curve Streets.

12:55 p.m. A Woodland Road resident borrowed cones from the Police Station.

4:42 p.m. Patrol directed traffic at St. Irene church on East Street.

5:15 p.m. Patrol investigated a 911 hang up call from a Hartwell Road residence: the situation checked okay.

10:02 p.m. A vehicle parked in a bad spot on Curve Street was found to be disabled.

10:30 p.m. A second disabled vehicle was found on Curve Street.

December 25

7:40 a.m. DPW was notified of a large branch in the road at Bedford and Skelton Roads.

10:06 a.m. DPW was notified of a tree down and blocking the road at Curve and Fiske Streets.

1:02 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Kimball Road.

9:50 p.m. Mutual aid was given to the town of Concord where a prisoner had escaped from a minimum security prison.

December 26

8:23 a.m. A resident complained of a barking dog in the Cross Street and Bingham Road area.

12:43 p.m. A Fiske Street resident contacted the station about a legal matter.

1:06 p.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a vehicle lockout at Lowell Street and the ski barn.

December 27

11:20 a.m. Patrol investigated an open door alarm on Westford Street and found Verizon on the scene.

1:11 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from a Rutland Street

residence. The scene appeared secure.

3:29 p.m. Patrol investigated an open door and found the situation checked okay.

5:59 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a smoke detector alarm from a Hutchins Road residence.

9:06 p.m. A traffic enforcement operation began at 9:06 p.m. and ended at 9:51 p.m. four vehicles were stopped.

December 28

4:23 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Rutland Street.

5:16 p.m. Police investigated a vehicle crash on South Street. A summons will be issued for possession of a Class D substance and failure to keep right.

7:25 p.m. A Munroe Hill resident requested legal assistance with a civil matter.

11:10 p.m. A vehicle traveling at a high speed passed a cruiser running radar. The vehicle did not stop and was pursued until it stopped on Craigie Circle where the operator was arrested.

December 29

12:27 p.m. An Old East Street resident reported an audible alarm sounding. Patrol investigated and had a negative find.

5:36 p.m. A residential B & E (breaking & entering) occurred on Rutland Street. Police are investigating.

December 30

2 a.m. DPW was notified of road conditions.

11:37 a.m. Patrol investigated a suspicious trailer on Martin Street; it checked okay.

12:29 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from a Baldwin Road residence and found it was set off accidentally by a cleaner.

3:43 p.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a vehicle lockout on North Road.

6:28 p.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a vehicle lockout at Morse Road and the Transfer Station.

December 31

2:16 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a residential fire alarm on West Street. The cause was not determined.

7:57 a.m. A past vehicle B & E on Hutchins Road is under investigation.

8:07 a.m. A past vehicle B & E on Curve Street is under investigation.

8:41 a.m. A past vehicle B & E is under investigation. In this and the previous two items, entry was gained to a parked vehicle and valuable contents taken.

8:52 a.m. Patrol investigated a dumpster near the roadway on Carlisle Pines Drive. It checked okay.

11:12 a.m. Patrol was successful at the scene of a vehicle lockout on Indian Hill.

11:20 a.m. Patrol left a note for a Berry Corner Lane resident at the request of an oil company caring for the house in the owner’s absence.

11:49 a.m. A minor vehicle accident occurred at Milne Cove Road and Laurelwood Drive. There was no personal injury. AAA was en route to the scene.

12:18 p.m. A past B & E of a vehicle on East Street is under investigation.

1:24 p.m. DPW was advised of a complaint about traffic not moving on Westford Street because of the snowstorm.

1:43 p.m. Patrol assisted at Concord Street and Buttrick Lane where a car was off the road.

4:07 p.m. Patrol investigated a suspicious motor vehicle on Forest Park Drive: it checked okay.

6:11 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a chimney fire.

6:21 p.m. A rock was reported in the roadway on West Street. Patrol could not locate the rock.

6:40 p.m. A Fiske Street resident reported a neighbor dispute.

7:25 p.m. A Fiske Street resident reported a neighbor dispute. (This report was from the other party concerned in the previous item.)

January 1, 2009

12:28 a.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from an East Street residence. The scene checked okay and the owner was notified.

12:50 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a fire alarm on West Street.

12:55 a.m. A burglar alarm was received from a Daniels Lane residence. The owner was on the scene and the alarm was determined to be a malfunction.

9:45 a.m. Police helped an out-of- state caller contact a Carlisle resident.

11:45 a.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on School Street.

4:19 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department at the scene of a medical emergency on Brook Street.

4:51 p.m. Patrol delivered a message to an Old East Street resident.

January 2

7:05 a.m. A vehicle hit a deer on Westford Street. The deer was put down and removed.

9:48 a.m. An Old East Street resident reported coyotes in the driveway. Patrol investigated, with a negative find.

10:25 a.m. A complaint was received about sled dogs barking at Bedford Road and Foss Field.

12:12 p.m. Patrol assisted at the scene of a disabled vehicle at Bedford Road and Stearns Street. AAA was en route.

3:12 p.m. A burglar alarm was received from a Spencer Brook Lane resident. The alarm checked okay.

8:00 p.m. A traffic enforcement operation began. Six vehicle stops were made, the last at 10:41 p.m.

January 3

12:14 a.m. A large cat-like creature was reported at Concord and South Streets. Patrol investigated and had a negative find.

5:55 a.m. Patrol checked a burglar alarm received from a Judy Farm Road residence and found all was secure.

6:40 p.m. Patrol assisted the Fire Department on East Street.

7:00 p.m. A traffic enforcement operation began. There were six stops, the last at 8:38 p.m.

January 4

8:55 a.m. A one-car vehicle accident occurred at Westford and Cross Streets.

11:43 a.m. A River Road horse got stuck in a pond. Using sledgehammers to break the ice, police helped the horse escape.

1:42 p.m. Patrol investigated a burglar alarm from a Rutland Street residence and found all secure.

4:05 p.m. A resident reported keys lost at the Cranberry Bog.

Fire Log

December 12

7:12 a.m. Wires were reported burning on South Street. The Fire Department stood by at the scene until NSTAR arrived.

8:23 a.m. A carbon monoxide investigation was conducted on Carriage Way. No CO was found.

8:44 a.m. The Fire Department responded to wires burning at River Road and Foss Way. There was no problem and NSTAR was notified.

9:35 a.m. A fire alarm investigation was conducted on Robbins Drive. No smoke or fire was found.

9:43 a.m. A lifeline call was received from a Concord Road resident. The patient refused transport.

1:39 p.m. A Cross Street resident reported a water problem. The water was pumped out. Carbon monoxide was detected due to a burner problem and this was also removed.

December 13

3:39 p.m. A 91-year-old female who fell was transported from Ember Lane to Emerson Hospital.

December 14

5:19 a.m. A 69 year old female with a medical emergency was transported from South Street to Emerson hospital.

8:50 p.m. A fire alarm investigation was conducted on Bedford Road; this was caused by burnt food.

December 15

4:25 p.m. A 20 year old female who fell from a horse was transported from Lowell Street to Emerson Hospital.

December 17

12:13 p.m. EMTs responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bedford Road. No injury was found and the patient refused transport.

5:26 p.m. The school fire alarm had a problem and was reset by the officer on call.

9:46 p.m. The Fire Department responded at the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Concord Road. No transport was required.

December 19

9:46 p.m. A 50-year-old male with a medical emergency was transported to Emerson Hospital. ALS was met en route

and treated the patient.

9:39 p.m. A 2 1/2-year-old child with a medical emergency was transported from Westford Street to Emerson hospital.

December 20

3:50 p.m. A 56-year-old male who fell was transported from East Riding Drive to Emerson Hospital.

December 21

8:39 p.m. An alarm investigation was conducted on East Street by an officer. Fire alarm did not report correctly to the dispatcher. No other problems were found.

1:30 p.m. The Fire Department conducted an odor investigation on Maple Street. The resident reported an oil odor coming from the garage.

December 23

12:16 p.m. A non-emergency lift assist was provided for a wheelchair bound male resident on Kimball Road.

December 25

12:57 p.m. An unknown medical emergency was reported by Lifeline and an 88-year-old female was transported from Kimball Road to the Lahey Clinic for stroke-like symptoms.

December 27

6:07 p.m. An alarm investigation was conducted on Hutchins Road. The fire alarm was found to be accidental.

December 28

4:18 p.m. An unknown medical emergency was reported by Lifeline. An older male was transported to Emerson Hospital with ALS.

December 31

2:13 p.m. An alarm investigation was made on West Street. Nothing was found and the alarm was reset.

6:13 p.m. A West Street caller reported flames coming from the chimney The fire was out on arrival and the building/chimney was checked for extension of heat/fire.

January 1, 2009

12:47 a.m. An alarm investigation was made on West Street. The smoke detector in the furnace room was activated for an unknown reason.

11:48 a.m. An 86-year-old female with a medical emergency was transported to Emerson Hospital, where ALS released to BLS.

4:12 p.m. A 59-year-old male with a heart related emergency was transported with ALS 1 to Emerson Hospital.

January 2

4:09 p.m. An alarm investigation was made on Rutland Street. The cause of the alarm was unknown.

January 3

6:37 p.m. An alarm investigation was made on East Street. This was caused by a faulty smoke detector battery.

January 4

11:38 A horse was rescued on River Road.
