To the Editor:
On behalf of the board of directors of the Carlisle Education Foundation, we would like to thank the community for the extraordinary support provided at our annual auction held at The International in Bolton on Saturday, November 15.
This year’s auction grossed more than $82,000, exceeding last year’s tally by 7%. Given the fragile state of the national economy, this enthusiastic response from the community is a remarkable statement of our collective support for our school and of the teachers who educate our children. The immediate impact of this success will be the purchase of three ActivBoards for classrooms as well as much-needed classroom teaching tools. As the year proceeds, and as we learn of the school’s most critical needs, we will be able to allocate additional funds to support the mission of the school.
We want to thank all of the volunteers who gave of their time, efforts and talents for this worthy cause. We also want to thank the families and local businesses who contributed their resources to make this event such a resounding success, as well as the faculty and administrators who enthusiastically supported our efforts.
We are proud to be a part of a community that demonstrates its support of our public schools through generous financial contributions and active participation.
To the Editor:
I would like to extend an invitation to all residents to attend one of the upcoming public forums regarding the school building project. The forums are scheduled for Wednesday, December 3, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, December 10, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Both forums will be held in the Clark Room at Town Hall.
At these forums, the School Building Committee (SBC) members will provide an update on the proposed project including the scope and schedule. There will be a brief presentation followed by an open discussion.
