The annual Carlisle Education Foundation (CEF) auction, this year called “Around the World in Eighty Days,” was a fruitful evening for the Carlisle Public Schools, grossing over $75,000, according to auction organizer Peg Gladstone. Approximately 175 guests filled The International, a private club in Bolton, where they bid on silent and live auction items while enjoying a delicious dinner and later danced to the rhythm and blues of Soul Kitchen. The guests generously purchased “wishing tree” items such as books and math tools, and pledged funds for the purchase of electronic white boards.

New this year was auctioneer Doug Stinson, of Carl W. Stinson, Inc., whose fee is roughly 10% of the live auction. The auction earned approximately $4,000 more than last year. ∆
