Library Building Committee evaluates designers for restoration
The Library Building Restoration Committee has narrowed the field of possible designers for the Gleason Library restoration project to three firms, CBI Consulting, Inc.; McGinley, Kalsow and Associates; and Lerner, Ladds, Bartels, Inc.
Twelve applicants had responded to the published Request for Qualifications and in early October the committee narrowed the list to six. After checking references, the committee narrowed the list and on October 30 and 31 the Library Building Restoration Committee interviewed representatives of three firms. Each firm provided a short presentation outlining their skills and qualifications. At a meeting following the last presentation, the committee decided to check further references.
The committee is deliberating and plans to discuss the next course of action at the library Trustees’ meeting on Friday morning. According to Library Director Angela Mollet, the timeline has been adjusted in order to provide more time to review the applicants. The committee plans to meet again in mid-November and hopes to select the project designer and have the fee negotiated by late November. ∆
