Neither the Green Party nor the Working Families Party had any candidates on the ballot.

There were a large number of write-in votes on both the Democratic and Republican ballots for Register of Probate. The incumbent, John Buonomo, has been arrested and charged with stealing money from copy machines at the Probate Court and last week he resigned from office. Town Clerk Charlene Hinton notes that, for a primary, a write-in candidate must belong to the same political party as the ballot on which his or her name is marked.

The last day to register for the November presidential election is October 15, when Hinton will extend office hours until 8 p.m. Absentee ballots may be requested, and will be distributed closer to the election, after they have been printed.∆
