State aid rises for Concord-Carlisle High School in FY09

It was announced at the Concord- Carlisle Regional School Committee (RSC) meeting on August 28 that the regional school district would receive an extra $216,000 in state aid for FY09 over what was received in FY08. Chapter 70 funding was increased by roughly $127,000 and Regular Transportation was increased by roughly $94,000. Other accounts were adjusted negatively by roughly $5,000. Deputy Superintendent of Finance and Operations John Flaherty and the RSC discussed options for the money, such as purchasing a bus which had been delayed last year, reinstating funds cut from the supplies budget, saving it in the Excess and Deficiency Account (E&D Account) or using it to lower each town’s fiscal responsibilities to the regional school district. No decisions were made. ∆
