CARLISLE BECOMES A WALKING TOWN. The Pathways Committee has worked hard over the last 13 years to connect the town center and the main roads with new pathways. Townspeople are connecting too, using the pathways enthusiastically. Pictured here are committee members (left to right) John Bakewell, Deb Belanger, chair, Eileen Faber and Jack Troast as they are recognized for their efforts. (Photo by Ellen Huber)

THE ONLY PROBLEM IS HOW MUCH SHE CAN CARRY. A young patron at the Friends of the Gleason Public Library’s Used Book Sale last Saturday is intent upon the selection. The Friends raised $4,604.75 for the library through the sale. (Photo by Rik Pierce)
