BOS define Highland task force charter
At Tuesday night's Board of Selectmen's (BOS) meeting, the board accepted the charter proposal for the Highland Study Group, written by Doug Stevenson. The purpose and mission of this study group is to thoroughly investigate all options for which the Highland Building can be used: preserved as a historical building, sold, moved, demolished or possibly used as ancillary office space by the Carlisle School. The study group is to be formed by December 11 and shall consist of seven members — one each from the BOS, Carlisle School Committee, Historical Commission and Planning Board plus three community-at-large representatives. Of those seven members, three are desired to have experience with architecture/design, construction/contracting and or historical/preservation. The group is tasked to make a final recommendation for the Highland Building by June 30, 2008. People interested in joining the Highland Study Group should contact the Board of Selectmen's office.
