Police report quiet Halloween
All the spooks and goblins were busy trick-or-treating during Carlisle's 2007 Halloween festivities, according to Carlisle Police Lieutenant Leo Crowe. He said that two officers had been assigned to the crosswalk in the center of town, one officer went on a mountain bike to Tall Pines, and two additional officers were in cruisers on Halloween night. The two officers at the crosswalk went on bike patrol after the peak of trick-or-treat activity in the center.
Crowe said the numbers of people out to celebrate Halloween were about the same as last year, and that there were no problems this year, just as no problems were reported to the police last year.
