RecCom to begin interviews for new director
The Recreation Commission (RecCom) Search Committee has chosen eight candidates for preliminary interviews from among the applications received for the new position of full-time recreation director. According to Norm Lind, commission member and head of the Search Committee, resumés were reviewed and semi-finalists were chosen when the Search Committee met last week. Asked about the applicants, Lind said, "We were very pleased with the pool that we have gotten."
Lind expects it will take a week or two for the selection committee to meet with the eight candidates. After that, the group plans to recommend two or three candidates to the full commission, who will then interview the finalists.
The salary range for the job is between $50,000 to $65,000. The position requirements listed on the town's web site, www.carlislema.gov, include a bachelor's degree in Recreation Management or related field and at least three years experience managing recreation or similar programs.
