After an 11-year-long legal battle, the Carlisle Planning Board and other defendants have reached a settlement in the lawsuit brought by the brothers David Valchius and Michael Vale (formerly Valchius) regarding their request to subdivide land on Berry Corner Lane. The Carlisle Teachers' Association (CTA) has issued a vote of "no confidence" in Carlisle Superintendent Marie Doyle, stating in a press release on Monday, June 11, "The Carlisle Teachers' Association, by a vote of 54-3, has passed a vote of "no confidence" in the Superintendent of Schools, Marie Doyle. Starting next fall, fifth graders at the Carlisle School will switch classes, alternating between two teachers for different subjects, and as the new teaching format was announced at the June 6 Carlisle School Committee (CSC) meeting, Chair Nicole Burkel said, "We've assigned fifth grade to the middle school." ...more
