CCHS sports update

Concord-Carlisle High School had an amazing week in sports with only one loss. The boys lacrosse team had a tight game on May 15 in 80-degree weather. They came back from behind late in the game with a 6-5 win over Wayland. They also won against Weston, 8-5, on May 17.

The girls lacrosse team also had a great week with two exciting games. On May 15 they beat Wayland, 8-7, and on May 17 they beat Weston, 16-14, in an incredible finish, qualifying them for the playoffs.

The girls softball team had three big wins, beating Wayland, 14-2, on May 14 and highly ranked Lincoln-Sudbury, 17-2, on May 17. On May 21, they overpowered Bedford, 15-1. Catcher Lisa DeBruzzi hit for the cycle, and Eliza Jacobellis scored three runs and had three RBIs. Pitcher Kim Miner scored another win with 13 strikeouts. The team remains undefeated, is now officially DCL champion and is ranked number one in the state.

On May 14, the boys baseball team beat Wayland in a low-scoring game of 2-0. The boys tennis team also remains undefeated with wins over Wayland, 5-0, on May 14 and Newton South, 4-1, on May 17. The girls tennis team had a tough week emerging with a close win of 3-2 over Wayland on May 14 and a loss against Newton South, 5-0, on May 17.

Playoffs begin next week.
