Shorts from the Historical Commission, April 24

· Center Park. Sabrina Perry of the Friends of Center Park came before the Carlisle Historical Commission to request approval for the addition to the park of two memorial teak benches that had not been part of the original park design. Each would have a small brass plaque bearing the name of the person being memorialized. The commissioners approved the benches.

· 26 Westford Street. Mary Jane Knudsen and Alan Merry requested approval to replace 25 windows in their home. The original windows had been replaced 20 years ago, but since then the house has continually lost heat. A representative of the Renewal by Andersen Company brought a window sample to the hearing. It is widely used in historical homes, and is made of a composite material called Fibrex that resembles wood. The architects on the Historical Commission were satisfied with the appearance and quality of the new window, and the entire board approved the proposed change.
