ICE CREAM IN HONOR OF NEWBORN. Among the first customers at Kimball's Ice Cream Stand when it opened Thursday morning, April 5, at 10 a.m., were Fred and Linda Oswald of Salt Lake City, Utah. They had flown into Boston the night before to meet their first grandchild, Alta Oswald, born March 20. They were able to welcome Alta with Kimball's in a cooler, a family tradition. Alta's mom, Heather Eliassen, who grew up in Carlisle, had featured Kimball's ice cream at her wedding to Wyatt Oswald in New Hampshire several years ago. (Courtesy photo)
