Car flips and hits pole near Kimballs
A gray Toyota traveling an estimated 70-75 miles an hour in a posted 30 mph speed zone went off Route 225 near Kimballs Ice Cream Stand at about 8:30 p.m.on Wednesday, March 28. A police officer on patrol saw the vehicle lying on its roof and stopped to investigate. The vehicle hit a boulder on its way off the road and the impact propelled it into the pole about ten feet off the ground, causing the pole to split and leaving debris and live wires severed in the fall around the area.
The operator, a Burlington resident, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving to endanger, marked lane violation, and speeding. She had no visible injuries but was taken to the hospital with both the Carlisle ambulance and Advanced Life Support in attendance. She was bailed later that night and arraigned in court on April 2.
