Carlisle School boys basketball team celebrates an exceptional season
The boys' varsity basketball team had a successful season, ending the year with an impressive 8 and 2 record. The two losses were early in the season, against Hanscom and Acton. When these teams met again later in the season, the Carlisle Huskies dominated on offense and defense and celebrated two huge wins. Returning veterans Griffin Creighton, Jackson Forelli, Peter George, Tim Lamere, Cam McGrory and Bennet Simonton showed great leadership on and off the court, leading practice drills, encouraging and instructing new players and setting the pace and tone of the game.
New to our team this year were eighth graders Steven Charnley, Erik Dinardo, Sean Fidler, John Gillies, Adam Koski, John McNamara and Nick Stoico. Adam was strong on the boards, grabbing several offensive and defensive rebounds. John McNamara was strong as shooting guard with a consistent outside shot. John Gillies and Erik were aggressive on defense disrupting the opponent's ability to get the ball inside. Sean, Steven and Nick were down low, helping our guards penetrate the defense.
Also new to the team this year were seventh graders Gibson Holland, who brought strong ball handling and defense to the team, and Aidan Konuk, who has an amazing outside shot. During the season, the players developed their individual skills while they became a team.
This fine group of young men represented our school with great pride and dignity, approaching every game with enthusiasm and determination. Thanks to the many dedicated parents who followed and supported us this season, provided snacks, and waited patiently for the bus to return from away games. The players and coaches are grateful for your continued loyalty.
