Historical Commission shorts, Sept. 26
• Sign for furniture shop. In a continuation from the August 25 public hearing, Ian Sampson presented details of his proposed sign for the barn at 43 Bedford Road, space that he is renting for his furniture business. The sign will be gilt letters on old barnboard, and will hang from a yardarm near the doorway. The commission approved the sign as submitted.
• Paint for 200-year-old house. Jim and Karen Clemens came before the commission to present paint colors for their home at 75 Westford Street. The colors chosen were off-white for the window trim and green for the clapboards. They were accepted by the commission, but the Clemenses will return next month with colors for the doors, which are currently black, and with brand names and exact colors for all paints.
The commission meets next on Tuesday, October 24.
