ZBA grants permit for barn project
Chris Spriano of 610 Bedford Road appeared before the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) on May 4 to request a variance to increase the size of the barn on his property so he could store his large equipment and collection of antique trucks. The barn was originally a horse barn, but he did not use it for animals. Spriano explained that he was looking for relief from the barn's side setback, which is 39'7" though the plan he submitted shows the building as conforming. In a recent survey of the property, engineers Stamski and McNary found the barn was not set back 40 feet, however. The board determined that only the side setback variance was required because the barn building met the front setback requirements, and granted his request for the variance provided the barn was not to be used as living space.
