RAINY POOL STUDY. At the rainy vernal pool walk on Sunday afternoon, former ConsCom member and amphibian specialist Chris Kavalauskas scoops up material from the bottom of the pond in a net. About 20 brave souls of all ages weathered the cool rain to explore the pool across from the Cranberry Bog, seeing spotted salamander egg cases, a wood frog, a green frog and a bull frog, tadpoles and other small pond creatures.
