Vandalism rises

Police are investigating graffitti spray-painted on the Wilkins Building. The damage was discovered Monday morning and is still under investigation.

The police patrol was luckier on Wednesday, April 5, when three youths were caught in the act of breaking windows at the Greenough Barn on Maple Street. That incident, too, continues under investigation. The following Sunday, April 9, mailbox vandalism was discovered on Fiske Street at 3:42 a.m.

Residents are used to minor vandalism arriving with daffodils and open burning notices in the springtime. The best way to curb vandalism is to be alert and to notify the police of suspicious activity.
