Carlisle School Business Manager resigns
Explaining that he was not leaving "for the sake of leaving," Steven Moore, Business Manager for the Carlisle School announced he will leave at the end of the current school year to accept a new position as Executive Director for Finance and Administration with the Randolph Public Schools. In an e-mail sent to the school faculty and staff on April 11, Moore explained, "The decision to leave was a difficult one but I wanted to continue my career development. Randolph is a larger district with many new challenges for me."
Reached by phone after the announcement was issued, Moore said he has been at the school for four years. He said he had been thinking about his next move for about a year, but wanted to wait until the Wastewater Treatment Plant project was completed.
Expressing concern that his resignation would be viewed as an indication of internal conflicts in the school, he stated in his e-mail, "I fear that my resignation might be interpreted as being caused by a poor working relationship with the superintendent. Nothing could be further from the truth."
"It was the right time and the right opportunity," Moore explained on the phone. His e-mail said Superintendent Marie Doyle was aware of his plans, and was supportive of his move to the Randolph Schools. Doyle, on a trip to China (view the article in this issue.), was unable to be reached for comment.
