CCHS boys excel in alpine skiing

The Concord-Carlisle boys alpine ski team had another excellent season this year. The team lost only one regular season race, coming in second to Lincoln-Sudbury. Undefeated in all other competitions, C-C placed first overall in the Omega West League. Unfortunately, the team could not finish strongly in the state competitions and retired earlier than it expected.

Half of the varsity team members were League All-Stars: Robert Dolins, Andrew Hawes and Drew Brozowoski. Connor Callahan would have been granted the same title, but he missed one race.

In the state competition, the team skied well but had a few disappointments. Many members made minor mistakes, and Concord-Carlisle placed lower than expected. Overall, the difficulty at States could not tarnish an otherwise exceptional season.

Because three key skiers will graduate this year, next year will be tough. It will be difficult to replace the skill of seniors Andrew Hawes, Drew Brozowoski and Christian Manchester. With lots of talent coming up from JV, Coach Robert Furey hopes to continue Concord-Carlisle's dominance in alpine skiing.
