Middle School field hockey has a stellar season
The Middle School field hockey teams had another stellar season. We were fortunate enough to be able to have two teams this year, adding strength in numbers as well as in experience. There were seven eighth graders, 11 seventh graders, and 12 sixth graders making up the teams. The varsity team (3-5-1) and the JV team (0-4-1) grew both as individual players as well as a team throughout the season. Both teams were able to keep games close, as eight out of the combined nine losses of the two teams were within two goals.
Strength, endurance, and a willingness to play each second as if it was the last second of the game helped guide the teams through the season. Veteran players led the team at the beginning of the season, giving the newest members of the team an opportunity to figure out the rules of the game. However, as the season progressed, both veteran and new players picked up the pace and played together as one. We thank the families for their continued support throughout the season. We look forward to seeing the sixth and seventh graders back on the team next year, and wish the eighth graders the best of luck as they enter high school. The season was truly one filled with excitement, growth, and funway to go, Huskies!
