Wireless Advisory Committee seeks public input
The next meeting of the Wireless Advisory Committee is scheduled for December 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The committee members encourage public participation as they continue a review of proposed wireless bylaw revisions and prepare for a presentation to the Board of Selectmen. The presentation is tentatively scheduled for December 20.
At the November 29 meeting Chair Rich Boule introduced a new member, Peter Yelle (Cross Street). Yelle has been involved in various aspects of the wireless industry since the early 1990s. Boule summarized the four objectives of the committee: (1) revise the present bylaw which may be "legally problematic;" (2) facilitate better personal wireless service in Carlisle; (3) minimize visual impact of future wireless facilities in town; (4) facilitate revenue sources for the town, if possible.
Yelle suggested that the committee review the Lincoln bylaw. "It limits antenna height to 60 feet with a possible extension of 20 feet based on tree canopy." Member Brian Larson advocated preparing a town-wide questionnaire with key questions on the topic to help the committee in achieve its objectives.
