Shorts from the Board of Selectmen, November 22
• Cell phone recycling collection box. Elaine Picard from the Carlisle School Association asked the Board of Selectmen for permission to place a cell phone recycling box in the Town Hall from January 2 through February 17, 2006. The program is called Race to Recycle and for every cell phone they collect, Motorola will give the Carlisle Public School $3. The Selectmen voted 5-0 to approve the request.
• Housing lottery. Town Administrator Madonna McKenzie attended a meeting of those responsible for administering the lottery for the two Laurel Hollow affordable units on Lowell Street. She advises anyone who might want to get on the list to contact Maureen O'Hagan of MCO Housing Services at 1-978-456-8388.
• Tree lighting. The Selectmen also voted 5-0 to permit the Red Balloon Nursery School to hold a tree-lighting ceremony on the Town Common on December 5 from 6 to 7 p.m.
• Meetings. The Board of Selectmen plans to meet twice next month — December 13 and December 20.
