Shorts from the Historical Commission, October 25
• Krapf chimney. Russ and Donna Krapf of 75 Westford Street returned to seek approval of alterations made to the chimney as presented to the commission in February. The commission accepted the alterations after the fact.
• Jaquith-Bergeron landscaping plan. Cindy Jaquith and Paul Bergeron appeared before the commission in connection with their application for landscape changes at 43 East Street. The proposed work includes replacing existing concrete steps with granite steps; installing a handrail, cobblestone pavings and a lantern at the front of the house; painting the exterior; widening the asphalt driveway; building a farmer's stone wall; and selecting plantings suitable for a wetland area. After discussion, the commission accepted the hardscape features of the design as presented — the granite steps, stone wall, cobblestone pavings and a driveway lantern — and asked the owners to return on November 22 with further details on paint colors, lantern color and a design for the handrail.
