Driver asked to accept responsibility
To the Editor:
I am compelled to write this letter, if for no other reason than to vent an injustice. On the evening of September 6, after attending a meeting at Town Hall, I noticed that one of my fellow attendees had backed his or her vehicle into the rear bumper of my car, causing a huge dent, which will cost me over $600 to repair. Although hit and runs are common, I am outraged that someone from our town would cause such damage, and leave the scene without accepting responsibility. I would expect at least a note on the car. Leaving the scene of an accident, and turning one's back on responsibility is legally and morally reprehensible. I hope the person who caused the damage reads this and at least feels some sense of remorse.
