Assabet Valley Patriots complete season
The Assabet Valley Patriots Mite Minor hockey team completed an exciting season in the Metro Boston Hockey League. The Patriots shocked the competition by upsetting the number-two seed Edgewood Hawks, 3 to 2, in the first round of the playoffs. This stunning victory propelled the Patriots into the championship game against the number-one seed Worcester Crusaders. The action was fast and furious from the opening faceoff as the players moved up and down the ice. Despite a valiant effort by the Patriots, the Crusaders took home the trophy with a 3-0 victory. Carlisle's Justin Gray provided solid goaltending for the Patriots throughout the season. A highlight for the players was in February when the team had an opportunity to play a short intra-squad scrimmage between periods at BU's new Agganis Arena.
