The Concord-Carlisle Youth Hockey Squirt 1 team skated to the finals in the all-state championship tournament held March 11 to 13 in West Yarmouth. This underdog squad won four consecutive games to advance to the finals where they eventually fell victim to a powerhouse North Andover team 4-0.

CC came out flying in the first game beating Watertown 6-0. The offense was lead by Nick First who scored three goals for the "hat trick." Patrick O'Brien, Anthony Chirban, and James Abbott scored the remaining three goals with assists going to Nick Brozowski, Charlie Canty and Christian Salemy. CC next faced Charlestown who put up a good fight but could not stop Bryan Wilson, Sam Rice and Tim Badgley from scoring goals for a 3-2 CC victory. In game three Concord Carlisle jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead against the Baystate Sharks thanks to a pinpoint shot by Jordan Vincent. Shortly after seeing Baystate tie the game Andrew Long received a perfect pass from Nick McCormack and drove home the eventual game winner in this 2-1 victory.

The semi-final game against Newburyport turned out to be an exciting defensive battle and was scoreless going into the third overtime period thanks to excellent goaltending by Michael Pigula. Midway through the third overtime Patrick O'Brien scooped up a loose puck, skated the length of the ice and fired a shot past the Newburyport goalie sending CC to the championship game.
