CCHS boys winter sports:
Carlisle athletes contribute to hockey team

Goalkeeper Mark Lakness is named Dual County League All-Star.
With a season record of 7-12, this year was certainly a building year for the CCHS varsity hockey team. For the first time in six years, the team did not qualify for the State Tournament. Coach Harrington felt that the team could have had a better chance of qualifying for the tournament if the players had "created more opportunities," as most games were lost by only one or two goals.

Carlisle athletes contributed to the team on defense, offense, and in goal. Senior Kevin Tarca and sophomore Alex Ostrom both shone offensively while sophomore Ben Hoffman excelled defensively. Mark Lakness and Marty Spears protected the net as goalkeepers. Kevin Tarca was a key leader and an important role model for his teammates, always doing what he was asked to do with enthusiasm and dedication. Lakness and Hoffman both showed great improvement as the season progressed. Lakness' achievements in goal earned him the honor of being named a Dual County League All-Star. Despite an injury in the off-season, Hoffman was able to contribute significantly throughout the year. His exceptionally strong finish proves promising for the upcoming season. Spears and Ostrom will also bring experience and talent to next year's team.
