Carlisle legislators to announce increased state aid to COA
State Senator Susan Fargo and Representative Cory Atkins are pleased to announce that Carlisle's Council on Aging will receive a $3,491 grant from the state for Fiscal Year 2005, a 10% increase over last year's amount. The grant will be used to defray the cost of newsletter mailings, continue the outreach programs such as home- delivered meals and volunteer support.
"The Carlisle Council on Aging provides wonderful services for the town's older residents," said Senator Fargo. "From educational, health, and social services to entertainment and trips, Carlisle seniors truly depend on the COA. I enjoy visiting the COA and I hope that this grant helps many others to enjoy it as well."
"Since I first started working in the Legislature, I have been consistently impressed with the services the COA provides for my constituents," said Atkins. "The organization certainly deserves this grant."
