Police have a busy Christmas
The two December snows kept the police department on its toes. Twenty automobile accidents occurred, including several one-car skids into a tree or pole. There were five disabled cars, a few cases where assistance was needed, the usual downed trees and falling limbs, and medical assistance activities and coordination with the fire department on nine ambulance runs to Emerson hospital.
In addition to their regular patrols, 152 separate housechecks were made for people vacationing elsewhere. One overnight guest occupied a cell in the police station. Nothing extraordinary happened, but there was a lot of activity, including the additional administrative work to process the enforcement mobilization.
