Jeffrey Gilbert weds Isabel Becerra

Jeff Gilbert, son of Verna and Ira Gilbert of Pheasant Hill Lane, and Isabel Becerra, daughter of Ligia de Becerra of Bogota, Colombia, were married on September 5 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California.

Isabel received her bachelor's degree from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia, and received her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She is a management consultant in the San Francisco bay area. Jeff attended the Carlisle School and graduated from CCHS in 1989. He received his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Harvard University, an M.Phil in Computer Speech and Language Processing from Cambridge University, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the Director of Advanced Technology at Atheros Communications in Sunnyvale, California.

After a honeymoon in Europe, the couple resides in Sunnyvale, California.

Stephen Hackbarth to wed Hazel Dean Davis

Stephanie and Paul Hackbarth happily announce the engagement of their son, Stephen, to Hazel Dean Davis, daughter of Diana Dean and Mark Davis of St. Paul, Minnesota. Stephen graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1998. He met Hazel at Harvard University, where they received bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Anthropology respectively. After college Hazel studied at Juilliard while Steve traveled the world, spending a year in Norway and three months in India. The couple now lives in Norfolk, Virginia, where Hazel plays with the Virginia Symphony.

ENGAGEMENTS Stephanie Liteplo to wed Benjamin Trafton

Merrill and Maya Liteplo of Curve Street announce the engagement of their daughter, Stephanie, to Benjamin Trafton, son of Richard and Barbara Trafton of Auburn, Maine. Stephanie is a graduate of the Carlisle School and Concord-Carlisle High School.

As sophomores at Bates College, Stephanie and Ben met in physics class, but the chemistry was not there until two years later, prior to graduation. They are planning a wedding in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, next August.

Stephanie is a Project Leader at Biogen Idec, a biotech pharmaceutical company in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is in her second year of an MBA program at Boston College. Ben is a Senior Applications Engineer at Endeca Technologies, an enterprise software company based in Cambridge.


Holden Ernest Miller

Sean and Julie Miller of Chicago, Illinois, are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Holden Ernest born on October 28. Grandparents are Sally Hayen of Concord Street, Phil and Alice Hayen of Concord and Ed and Anne Miller of Concord.

• The Concord Youth Theatre opens its performance of Seussical The Musical this weekend at the Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts in Concord. The show is running December 3, 4, 5, 10, 11 and 12. Tickets are available by calling 1-978-371-1482. Filled with all the magic of Dr. Seuss's loveable characters, this musical includes rock, gospel and blues that promise to please all ages. Carlisle residents in the company are (left to right) David Yanofsky, Lucas Abend, Amy Nosowitz and Sam Petrie.


Freshman Lauren Middleton's name was omitted from the CCHS cross-country team fall round-up in last week's newspaper.
