Carlisle boys soccer finishes strong

The Carlisle Middle School boys soccer team finished a strong season with a flurry of goals. The boys netted eight goals in their last four games and really came together as a team. Dylan Benckley and Evan Scarlett led the team offensively throughout the season while Zander Ansara, Ian Henderson, Jeremy Higgins, and Chris Bojanic stabilized the team defensively. The surprising on-field leadership play of sixth graders Griffin Creighton and Jackson Forelli allowed speedsters like Alex Daniels and Alexander Cragan opportunities on both ends of the field. The goal-tending tandem of Kevin Clarke and Justin Harris were nothing short of outstanding this season with multiple save efforts in all 14 games. Each did their part to keep the team in the game and focused on the field. The concept of "team" was emphasized all year and it was clear in game eight this season against Concord that they started to grasp it. Each match from then on was approached with expectations of a win, and nothing fell short of a solid effort. Their respect for each other and their opponents showed on the field, as well as off, and together they battled strong for sixty minutes. The team looks forward to next season as they return 11 players from this year's roster.
